I've always deal with the immigration department regarding my Dokumen Perjalanan Terhad (DPT) as well as passport. Every time I go to the immigration office, I've a positive expectation i.e. no problem during the application. Unfortunately, each time it always have been very disappointing and frustrating!
One of the events which really pissed me off is when I brought my aunt to collect her DPT (renew). When we reached at the counter, the officer told us that the passport photo is not suitable because the chop's ink won't stick! My aunt took the photo outside the immigration office where there are people who offers the service. I think they are illegally providing the service but WHY did the government allows them to be there doing business? Many other people are also use the service to do their DPT or passport AND the customers were charged a bit expensive. There are no nearby photo shop so with transportation problem or due to time constraint, many have to use the service.
Recently I went to the immigration office to apply for a new passport. Before that, I've browsed the website, read the procedures & requirements several times until I fully understand what I should prepare. I printed out the form (turned out to be 2-page on 1 side), took a photo & ensure that my MyKad is available. It is based on the requirements stated on the website. It was nearly 2pm when I reached the office & there were no queues.. So I went to the counter, my form was rejected & they gave me a new form (double-sided form). A photocopy of MyKad is required (NOT STATED IN THE WEBSITE!). Then I was told that 'system-down' so they can't give out any number.. I went to another counter & he said the numbers have finished.. I reconfirmed with him that the office only issues a certain amount of ticket number which they consider the number of clients they are able to serve in a day. FINE!
The next day I went to the office in the morning, there's a long queue.. I've the form, my photocopied MyKad as well as 2 passport size photo.. finally I want to take the number, the officer checked my documents & he mentioned about my place of birth. Yes, I was born in Sabah.. The next part really makes me impatient.. He asked if I bring my birth certificate. Of course not because it is not required (still based on the website).. I can't apply for a passport WITHOUT MY BIRTH CERT!!! just because I was born in KK!! I told him that my parents were born in peninsula & he gave me another paper (a letter of request an international passport which starts with 'A'..) We are MALAYSIANS but why such procedures need to be done??? MENYUSAHKAN BETUL LA!!!
I'm delaying my application.. I'll do it later before I departed to Medan (Yahoo!).. then I'll be going to Singapore, hehehe.. it is just a plan but really wanna go overseas, kwang³~

1st day Campus Experience
Thinking back about my 1st day in university, doing my diploma, degree and now DPLI, I was never accompanied by my family members… I felt quite sad thinking about it but I did not feel that way when I was there.
Diploma – June 2003
I checked the results and I was offered Diploma in Banking by UiTM. Never been away from home, I learnt that I’m gonna be far far away in Arau, Perlis. The official offer letter haven’t arrived so I printed out all the forms, do all the things (medical check-up, fee payment, etc). the results were out approximately 1 week before the registration. AirAsia provides a cheaper fare during that time; I was hesitating on booking the seat though. There’s one night I cried thinking how I’m going to live there in UiTM Arau without my family, I’ve never been to a boarding/residential school before! The registration is on 1st June 2003 and I got the letter on 29th may, the day I got my 1st handphone and my 1st number which I still use until now. I also received the letter on that day. I stayed at Maklong’s house, fortunately my cousin; Cikna was there to help me. She brought the blurry me to the campus and waited till I’m done. She also brought me to buy some things. I was a little bit shy because I haven’t met her for such a long time. Then, by 430pm she left me because the orientation starts…
Degree – June 2006
I thought I’m gonna pursue my studies in Arau… I was offered to do a Degree in Business Admin (Finance) in Sarawak! OMG, another different world~! The plan is to go with my friend, Sazlinah. My mum booked the ticket, this time MAS. I wasn’t really prepared where I lazily went to do the preparations… my sis accompanied me most of the time – medical check-up was a disaster (government clinics/hospitals should have complete equipments for a simple medical check-up). Some new clothes, packed up some things in one luggage… I was sent to the airport, met with Saz then as soon as we arrived in Kuching Airport, we took a taxi to UiTM Kota Samarahan. There was only me and Saz at that time, walking around the campus to register. It was exhausting dragging our bags from u-flo to college office, up and down the admin building… no orientation so we’re free to do whatever we want after we’re done with the registration. At night, we went to the cafeteria to have dinner and later we met Gigi and the gang…
DPLI – 2009
This is a real rush… I was preparing to enter KPLI, submitted my resignation letter and Friday is my last day & I was packing up my things. Then I was told the DPLI results were out! I was determined to enter KPLI on the next Monday. I reached home, checked the DPLI result for fun, then I was in dilemma… I got DPLI too! It has been a terrible miserable weekends for me… at the end of the week, I chose DPLI. It is a rush to prepare all the things since I’m gonna be in Shah Alam. Thank God I’m able to do it before I departed. The plan was to take UiTM bus from the airport to Puncak Perdana. I went to the departure hall, no signs… I walked and saw the bus outside at ground level (kot) so I went down and waited… I took 6am flight, reached there around 9am, waited until about 10am… suddenly another UiTM bus stops and 2 UiTM students came out of it. So I asked them and they’re still waiting and will move later. I kept my luggage inside the bus and followed them. Then we met some other new students, most of them are from Sarawak doing degree. We chit-chat for a while then when there are no more students arriving at that time, we went to the main campus. It was such a hassle because I need to change busses… I waited again until a van to Puncak Perdana came and took me to the campus. I was alone; others stayed at the main campus or went to Puncak Alam. Dragging my luggage, urgh… register… no orientation yay! However, there’s nothing for me to do besides resting because the welcoming ceremony will be held on Wednesday. So my 1st day at UiTM Puncak Perdana ends with getting to know others and dinner.
So, my motive here… I went to the universities alone. My families didn’t have the opportunity to accompany my. Seeing other students being sent by their parents really makes me sad because I miss my mama & papa… not forgetting my bothers and sisters… at weekends, sometimes weekdays, there are parents who are visiting their children… OR the students went back to their hometown… and I will just hang around with my friends who are in the same condition with me. I wanna go home!!!
