Hari Raya Holidays

I thought I could rest down my head during this holiday but alas there are a lot of assignments to be done. Even though DPLI students get an extra week holiday, it seems that we need to use it wisely. I’ve done some of my part. I’ve read the novel Phantom of the Opera earlier and today I finished reading Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Now, where can I get my hand to The Return? It’s thicker than the previous novels and I really hope I can get it soon to be able to finish reading it before the holiday ends.

Currently I’m staying at Kolej Puncak Perdana & it’s like hell! I’ve got nothing much to do here since the broadband connection is very bad. I mean it’s dreadful! GPRS connection all the time, being disconnected, unable to load a page… to post this blog takes hours… OMG… was it worth it paying RM68 per month? I should change to student’s package this week… just doing some house chores to fill up my empty schedule. Oh, wait… assignments… how am I able to do it alone when most of it are group assignments! Hmm, I’ll do something later on…

I’m waiting for the arrival of my family from Sabah this Friday & Saturday. Then we’re going to drive to Penang & stay overnight. I really miss my family… and home…

Actually I’m worried sick about the assignments. It seems like I can’t really enjoy this festive holidays… but who knows when I’m with my family I will forget all about the assignment! LOL!

Hot Potatoes!

Today I learn Hot Potatoes! Yay~

I've been waiting for this. I love doing Jcross. We almost missed this lesson because Dr. Izaham thought he taught us a couple of weeks ago. We did the excel exercises which I haven't finish it yet.

There's Jmix & Jmatch which are also quite interesting. All of it involves words & sentences. I'm looking forward to create interesting exercises for my future pupils. hehehehe...In the computer lab, Dr. Izaham showed how to insert a picture using the Hot Potatoes sofware but I failed to do that. I followed the instructions & I think there's a problem with the PC.

I will install & explore it later. Thanks to Dr. Izaham.

Mid Semester Break - My Trip to Kuala Terengganu

WHAT??? A break after 3 weeks of lecture? I'm not ready for a break and it was a last minute announcement. If I have known earlier, I'd ask my mum to book me a return ticket to KK... I wonder, what will happen to all the plans for the week?? Anyways, I was able to visit Terengganu! For the 1st time, hehehe... luckily my mum had a meeting in Kuala Terengganu (KT) so I meet her there.

Lots of thanks to Ira, she’s so nice! My visit to KT is better than I’ve expected. Well, she made it easier for me to have a look around KT. By the way, Ira is my classmate who came from KT. Not to forget, Pinaz & her family who are Ira’s friend from Marang (I think). Pinaz’s mum is very pleasant woman & a very good cook. Yum yum…

While in KT, I went to Pantai Batu Burok, The Museum (the largest museum indeed, i awed...), Taman Tamadun Islam (Masjid Kristal is located here), Masjid Terapung and Sekayu Waterfall (the water is refreshing). I accompanied my mum & her friends to Pasar Payang. They were all crazy about the Batik! I don't wanna know about the price, it's killing me... I love watching the sea, it's beautiful. The buildings in KT have a very unique design (it's traditional). Even the airport building is unique.

I went to KT, bringing this netbook looking forward to surf the net during my stay in KT. Then I realized I forgot to bring my modem! What a nightmare but I did spent some of my time watching TV (movies, some news). My mum brought books for me but hardly touch it. Thought of reading the literature books but nah, movies are better, hehehe!

I’m back at Puncak Perdana. The first thing I did when I reach my apartment: I turn on my netbook & plug in the modem. Internet! I open facebook as well as YM. Then I checked EDU573 blog, the Monday class had been cancelled & I’m not so happy coz I want to learn about Hot Potatoes! I heard/saw Hot Potatoes but I have no idea what it is. However, there was an event that all the students need to attend. Kindly visit the blog for more info yea.

OMG! Assignments! I totally forgot! Well, I do remember but I have no clue where to begin. I think I’m still shocked by this new thing, can’t get a word in those books I just bought... Somebody please guide me, huhuhuh…

Prologue

Hello Readers! Briefly, I'm Nur Zuriaty a.k.a Tuty from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. I was born on 10th June 1985 and that makes me 24 years old this year. I received my Degree in Business Admin (Finance) last November and at the same time was recruited as an Executive CSR at Celcom Kota Kinabalu Branch. Currently, pursuing Dip. in Education (TESL) placed in group 330TSLB, I’m looking forward to become an excellent teacher & I really hope that I can improve my English Language skills as well as IT skills.

IN CLASS TASK

I have some basic skills and knowledge of computers. I’m able to use Microsoft Office 2003 software, Internet Search Engines & a little bit of SPSS. I’ve attended a Computer Technology course which taught me how to format a PC & how to create a website. Unfortunately I only did it once during the course and I haven’t applied the knowledge.

During my leisure time, I usually surf the internet to get information on matters that interest me. I used to download and upload songs, photos, videos, articles, and so on but currently I’m not active with such activities. Mostly I use internet to keep in touch with my family and friends and I do join social networking websites (Facebook, Friendster, etc.) due to peer-pressure. Instant Messenger is my favorite online software which allows me to connect with my love ones. This is my first time blogging but it's not something new since my younger sister blogs a lot.

Regarding online learning, I’ve accessed PTAR online library & the online journal database. I’m excited to explore i-learn portal.

That’s all for now & let us all do our best !
